Up Coming Events and Programs

Kicking ass in 2018!!!

Hope everyone is getting out fishing and at least improving their Spey casting. I want to hint at some upcoming things for 2018.

Spey days 2018!!! Can’t wait to see you all.

The Dates of April 6-8 I will be in the Vancouver BC area giving Spey casting classes and a presentation at the Annual Spey Days event hosted by Michael & Young’s fly shop. I always look forward to this event and the people I get to see again and the new ones I meet.

The Intermediate/advanced Spey camps, are going to be some of the best on information and progression of modern Spey casting technique.

I am personally very excited to offer this next event. I have put together an intermediate/advance Spey camp this July. Only 5 students will be during the camp and first come first serve is how the signup will work. The accommodations will be lodge catered dinners and daily steelhead fishing and on river instruction. More details and price to come. The dates will be July 26-28. Don’t be afraid to shoot us an email here to get more info or sign up.

Winter Steelheading is never easy, but sometimes it all comes together. Other time a good guide will help to not only make you better but show you what else is available in the world of Spey casting!!

Keep checking in because more good blogs to come as well and casting tips articles in Swing The Fly magazine. As well as cool stuff coming to the All Waters Angling YouTube channel. Let’s get you on the water!!

Lots going on in 2018

Getting bent on winter Chrome!!

Welcome to 2018, hope everyone has been getting out and trying to find a fish or two. I have been working hard at finishing up a few up and coming things, and just got back from my week of instructing in San Francisco. I had gotten out a couple times but will be in full guide mode as we speak.

This big Redside could not resist a well presented Norm Woods.

This year has been busy already and want to talk more about so things that are coming up this season. My winter schedule has only a few open dates, so if you want to get out on the water contact me now. The second thing is trout season is only a few months out and dates are filling up fast for the salmon fly hatch. Seems like I get lots of last minute requests and can’t fill them all. So let’s talk earlier this year and get you on the water!!

This nice Redfish has to eat my popper!! These trips are great fun and an awesome saltwater sight fishing experience!!! New dates for this fall will be up soon.

A new newsletter format will be happing on the website. I will be sending out a quarterly newsletter. I hope to start adding video clips and trip ideas as long as a few helpful fishing ideas. Will give readers better scheduling ideas and hosted trip through the year with AWA.
Lastly the Spey casting film is so close to done!!! Hang in there not long now!!!

Placing your energy on working hard at anything will always pay out!!!

On to the current Steelhead news. The Deschutes Steelhead fishing has been about the same since we began guiding back in July. Fish hard with an open mind and your chin up and you will find a fish a day. The year of low numbers is not the worst thing as anglers we could have. The ability to go fishing still is present, closed to angling could be way worse. By going fishing you show respect for the rivers that Steelhead live in. By not going you might save a few dollars, but those dollars we put into the love of steelhead are just as important to the communities and the people that have made the chasing of Steelhead their lives. Just food for thought, i know we all care for these fish, hope everyone is getting out on the water!! Thanks
