Well here it is now almost mid July. Only days from full blown steelhead season. It has been on my mind and a few other folks as well. If you have not made your plans to fish the Deschutes this Fall with AWA, better shoot us an email. Space is limited as it is and those looking for camp trips might be out of luck until later in the season. Water conditions are looking good and with this cooler spring we are having the Fall could be shaping up really nicely. Don’t wait too long, the time to start getting ready for this season steelhead is now, look forward to hearing from you soon.
Well I have little excuse for the long space between posts and it wont happen like this again. To start I will say the winter season was awesome for the best winter i have ever had. Thanks to all who floated and fished will myself and Caleb. We hope to make next year better for the winter and spring with AWA’s purchase of a jet boat we will be expanding our river reach and will be able to have more available days on the water. So if you missed out this year we will be ready for you, Just lets us know.
Trout season is just starting to get going and if you have not booked you salmon fly dates you had better soon er then later. We have had some good days on the water trout fishing already this spring. The river is a bit high and a little cool but the trout seem eager and those willing to get out have been finding reward. lots of the big Bugs seems to be under the larger stones in the shallows of the river, spells for few bugs to be out in the next good set of HOT days.
Now that SOR (Spey-O-Rama) has come and gone, I will have a bit more time to keep up on post and pictures. This year was a wild one in San Fran for sure. The wildest wind i have ever seen there in the 7 trips I have made. Smart casts were key big cast were rare not the norm. I had to smart this year to even qualify as the wind blow out my left side casts and a potential new World Record. It is all done now and a 3rd place is better then nothing.
I really want people outside of the comp to understand the level of skill and sportsmanship this place carries. No where on the planet will you find a better rounded group of casters then there. I see the work that I put in and know these boy are doing as much or more. To all keep it up and my respect to all of my competitors and friends. Also good work to both Big Tommy and Gerard or Randy D as he now goes by, for their achievements this past weekend too.
Spey clave is just around the corner and so is Spey Nation. I will be presenting and giving classes at each these will be posted on the events page shortly as well. looking forward to both claves and meeting new and seeing old buddies as well. If you want to email me to know more about those up coming classes just shoot one away and I will get back at you ASAP.
Lastly we have 2 open spots for the Texas Red fish trip. Info is on the events page with dates and cost. always a fun trip and not a big cost for it.
Just like that 2015 is basically gone. In the blink of an eye the seasons have come full circle and we stand at the brink of a new year. Many thing have happened in my life of the past year and I am looking forward to seeing what the next year has to offer not only AWA, but what we at All Waters Angling have to offer you.
First off we Have added an events page to the site. This will help to keep you informed about upcoming casting classes and locations as well as the hosted travel for the year. If you have any questions on any of the events don’t hesitate to shoot an email over to me. The Dean trip and the yearly Redfish trip are already up and more thing to come.
Second thing, Trout dates are going fast and fall steelhead dates faster. If you want to get days on the books no time like the present. We always do the best we can to accommodate the dates we have to work with so don’t think we cant fit you in.
Lastly we are trying to put some hosted Spey school together with myself and some other celebrity casters. more to come on these as things unfold. I am super excited for them so I am sure you will be as well. Stay tuned updates will be up as fast as we get the details figured out. Hope every body had a wonderful holiday and got all types of new fishing equipment!!! Winter steelhead are around so don’t forget we can go chase those too!!!
