Deschutes Trout Fishing Report and Upcoming events.
Sorry about the lack of posts but we here at AWA have been busy. Deschutes trout season is in full swing and the salmon fly hatch is getting deep into the second half. With yellow sallies and caddis starting to take over feeding patterns from shears down. From Maupin up Norm woods and Clark’s stones have been the best fishing patterns going, paired with droppers like Batman, crown jewel green drake, Christmas prince, or guides choice hares ear. Dropper sizes should be in the 14-16 size except the drake which is a 10 or 12. The Redsides have been scattered through out all types of water, so search everywhere!!!!
The Sandy River Spey Clave has come and gone, was a great event!!! Saturday was unreal busy and things were a touch slow on Sunday but that happens. The free casting class on Friday was a huge success and for those who missed it, don’t next year. In just about a month Spey Nation will be the next big event, don’t miss out on the classes I will be giving while I am there. Fridays class has one more spot and Sundays has 3. Email me for details, dont miss out. I and AWA cant wait to be back on the Salmon. See you all soon!!!
